He passed away today, leaving behind an immense void. Dr. Nawaf Salameh was a visionary businessman, founder and chairman of the Nawaf Salameh Family Office, a group with investments across multiple sectors including hospitality, agriculture, and renewable energy, operating on several continents with distribution in over 100 countries. Alexandrion Group, the leading producer and distributor of spirits and wines in Romania, was among the first businesses established and led by Dr. Salameh. Born in 1965 in Marmarita, Syria, Dr. Salameh moved to Romania in the 1980s, initially pursuing his vocation as a medical doctor before dedicating his life to entrepreneurship. Beyond his achievements in business, Dr. Nawaf Salameh was deeply committed to philanthropy. He founded the Alexandrion Foundation, which took over the social responsibility projects and humanitarian actions of the group. Through the foundation, Dr. Salameh supported culture, sports, and education in Romania: he initiated the annual Constantin Brâncoveanu Awards Gala, honoring outstanding figures in Romanian culture; sponsored the Romanian Olympic Committee and various sports initiatives throughout the years; and was involved in numerous charitable actions, providing concrete assistance to those in need—from victims of the conflict in Ukraine to communities affected by recent natural disasters. Through these actions, Dr. Salameh made an enduring impact not only economically, but socially as well, earning widespread respect and appreciation. Aside from his remarkable business accomplishments, Dr. Nawaf Salameh lived his life firmly anchored in authentic family and spiritual values. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Rim, and a loving father, deeply involved in the upbringing and education of their three sons: Antonio, Roberto, and Michael. His profound Christian faith guided him throughout his life, instilling strong values and providing inner strength during difficult times. These values—integrity, generosity, and love for others—were discreetly passed on to his family, who remained faithfully by his side. The Salameh family now honors his memory by staying united, strong, and true to these principles, demonstrating the strength of the bonds they built together. Thus, Dr. Salameh's legacy continues not only through the group of companies he created but also through the values and resilience of his family, who will preserve his memory and carry forward his vision with dignity and confidence. In these difficult moments, it is the family’s wish that Dr. Nawaf Salameh’s memory be honored with respect for their privacy.
