Boyzzz  έχουμε topic για τις εκδηλώσεις της GWA. Γράφτε εκεί για να μην χάνουμε τη μπάλα. Σε ότι αφορά στην ερώτηση του @DUCATI13 αν έχει κάποιος πληροφόριση για κάβες, αν την ανεβάσει στο συγκεκριμένο topic. thanks!

Price - RRP of GBP2,400 (US$3,170) per 70cl bottle

Highland whisky distillery Tomatin has released the third expression in its Warehouse 6 Collection. The 1975 iteration has been maturing for 43 years, in an ex-Oloroso cask, in the distillery's warehouse number six.

The release, which is limited to 300 bottles, is packaged in a Glencairn crystal decanter.

"With patience comes reward," said distillery manager Graham Eunson. "The 1975 Warehouse 6 Collection provides a ... harmony of tropical and dried fruits, dark chocolate and warm spicy notes balanced with... background aromas created by decades of slow oxidation in its... warehouse locale before a long and elegant finish."

The Tomatin distillery is part-owned by Kyoto-based Takara Shuzo with co-owner Marubeni Corp, also based in Japan, responsible for operations.

Κάτι νέο και αρκετά ενδιαφέρον γιατί ξεφεύγει από τα τετριμμένα βαρέλια Αμερικανικής η Ισπανικής άντε στο τσακιρ κέφι Γαλλικής δρυός είναι η καινούργια εμφιάλωση από την εταιρεία White & Mackay ουίσκι που παλαιωνει σε Σκωτσέζικη δρυ με την πολλά υποσχόμενη ονομασία "King  of Trees", πρόκειται για την πρώτη δουλειά με την υπογραφή του Gregg Glass που συνεργάζεται με την W&M από το 2016

Whyte & Mackay has lined up two Scotch whisky iterations from its The Whisky Works project. The concept, run independently by Whyte & Mackay blender and whisky maker Gregg Glass, kicks off with a pair of "experimental whiskies" later this month.

The initial range comprises:

  • King of Trees - a ten-year-old Highland blended malt finished in a Scottish oak cask, 46.4% abv, GBP75 (US$99) per 70cl bottle, limited to 2,157 units
  • 29-Year-Old Glaswegian, a single grain Scotch matured in American white oak casks, 54.2% abv, GBP130 per 70cl botte, limited to 1,642 units

Both will be available at London's Whisky Live event this weekend, before being hosted on The Whisky Exchange website for UK consumers.

"I have been fortunate to develop relationships with brilliant producers connected right along the whisky making process right back to the individual foresters that manage the woodland that produces our casks," said Glass, who joined Whyte & Mackay from Compass Box at the end of 2016. "The Whisky Works is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate what can be achieved in the production of a Scotch Whisky."

Bacardi has released details of a new range of aged blended malt Scotch iterations under the Dewar's brand name. Available exclusively through DFS stores in the Global Travel Retail channel, Dewar's Double Double comprises three expressions, all of which have used a four-stage ageing process and are sold in 50cl bottles.

The range comprises:

  • Dewar's Double Double 21 Years Old –Finished in Oloros Sherry casks, US$90 per bottle
  • 27 Years Old – Finished in Palo Cortado Sherry casks, $160 per bottle
  • 32 Years Old – Finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, $250 per bottle

"The [GTR] channel has a vibrant mix of consumers from emerging markets at the second stage of luxury who actively seek new discoveries, especially in aged whisky," said Julie Witherden, marketing director at Bacardi's GTR division. "This new wave, combined with the specialist whisky status of Travel Retail amongst established connoisseurs and collectors, makes this an important strategic market for Bacardi. For these reasons, we knew Dewar's Double Double had to launch in Global Travel Retail first."

Dewar's Double Double will be available for a limited - albeit unspecified - time. When contacted by just-drinks, a spokesperson for Bacardi said: "The plan is to roll out from DFS to other select retailers in GTR at strategic airport locations."

'Ενα μόνο μικρό comment για το double triple double, ρίζα 3 δια δύο, με όριο το άπειρο και ολοκλήρωμα μεταξύ 0 και 1000 (ότι μου ήρθε έγραψα).

Θέλει να μας πει η Dewars ότι χρησιμοποίησε έναν ικανό αριθμό από single grains και single malts, συνολικής παλαίωσης 21 ετών, τα οποία και τα έκανε finish σε oloroso και τα οποία τα προσφέρει (μαζί με κέρδος κλπ κλπ κλπ) στα 90 USD (80 ευρωπουλάκια)???

Οκ. δεν θέλω να είμαι κακοπροαίρετος, θα έλεγα ότι είναι και εξαιρετική τιμή, αλλά πιο πολύ σε ξεσκαρτάρισμα στοκ μου ακούγεται ή σε 80% grain και λιγάκι από malt. Σε κάθε περίπτωση (να τα τονίζουμε αυτά) για 21 ετών, η τιμή είναι όντως πολύ καλή. (η πιο κοντινή είναι το Ballantine's 21 sστα 105 περίπου).
