1st FILL BOURBON EDITION
SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY

This limited edition of our Cask Islay is fully matured in 1st-fill Kentucky bourbon barrels and bottled at cask strength, to preserve the rich, full-bodied mouthfeel and intense, rounded flavours.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Dusky lemon.
Nose: Salted peanut, crab skewer, torched meringue and a bracing Islay breeze.
Palate: Smoked almond brittle, pink grapefruit and sweet maple.
Finish: Seared prawn and subtle balsamic cut effortlessly through the smoke.

Non-chill filtered & Natural Colour. Available in 700ml. Cask strength 58.6% Alc./Vol.

Τους τα έχει σκάσει το μάρκετινγκ! Όλες οι νέες ετικέτες πλέον έχουν μια μινιμαλιστική προσέγγιση.

Στην αρχή βλέποντας τα, έπαθα κι εγω ενα σοκ, αλλά τελικά μ'αρέσει αυτη η νέα "παραλληλοκωνική" γεωμετρική προσέγγιση που ξεφεύγει από τα συνηθισμένα.

μα δεν είναι η γεωμετρία του μπουκαλιού, η ετικέτα είναι χάλια. Μίνιμαλ που λέει ο @apo21 ok, αλλά μάλλον δεν έπρεπε να πιάσει όλη τη φάτσα, σαν τη μάσκα γίγας που έδωσαν στο δημοτικό ένα πράμα...:biggrin1:

Για το μπουκάλι διαβάζω κυρίως θετικά σχόλια.

Αυτό όμως που δεν φαίνεται άμεσα και όντως δείχνει άσχημα είναι το fill level. Θα πρέπει να συνηθίσουμε έναν κοντό και άδειο λαιμό.

Αυτό που μετράει είναι το περιεχόμενο, οπότε ας ελπίσουμε να είναι καλό!

Το είχα γράψει αλλά σαν καλό παιδί δεν είπα το αποστακτήριο τότε. Άλλη μία προσθήκη για τα μέλη της SMWS, ο κωδικός 143,  Copperworks Distilling Co., και νομίζω και ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέρουσα .

Cask No. 143.1  

Sea buckthorn tea time

Washington, USA

An amazing deep mahogany colour! This was matured in a cask using staves that were air dried for 18 months, then heavily toasted and charred to #2. The aroma was that of Acacia honey on slices of buttered toasted malt loaf next to simmering red currants almost ready to be filled into jars for jelly. On the palate, full roasted oak and coffee flavours with hints of molasses and a slightly bitter turmeric finish. Diluted – rain smells so appealing after a long period of dry weather, earthy, dunnage warehouse and floral notes of jasmine appeared, and the taste was that of hot cross buns, strawberry jam and sea buckthorn tea with honey and cinnamon. This malt was made from a six row barley variety known as Alba. We're talking very long fermentation here too. Three batches of wash were combined prior to distillation, each having between 9 to 13 days of fermentation!

Cask: New American oak charred barrel
Age: 3 years
Date distilled: March 2016
Alcohol: 60.0%

Υπέροχα (επιτέλους) νέα για ένα αποστακτήριο που τόσο καιρό περιμέναμε (τουλάχιστον εγώ). Οι πρώτες πληροφορίες από ανεπίσημο tasting (φίλων μας) είναι ότι πρόκειται ίσως για ότι καλύτερο έχει βγει στην ηλικία του και σίγουρα για το καλύτερο από τα νέα αποστακτήρια.

"Our AD/ Batch: 01 is bottled at 46.8% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured. 16,000 bottles will be dispatched from our warehouse in Fife starting from October 5th. It will be available in all good whisky shops at an RRP of £45. A list of our international stockists is available on our Adelphi Selection website.

We produce two signature styles of spirit, one peated and one unpeated. The distillery was designed to produce a full flavoured malt true to its location (West Highland). The single malt will comprise a 50/50 split of peated and unpeated whiskies, matured in a 65%/35% mixture of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry oak casks.

The AD/ Batch: 01 tasting notes includes; honeycomb, waxy peel, oyster shells, brine, strawberries with black pepper and bonfire embers."
