Το σημείο μηδέν για το boom του ουίσκι από τις Σκανδιναβικές χώρες, γνωστό και ως Scandi whisky, είναι ένα αποστακτήριο που ονομάζεται Mackmyra. Το αποστακτήριο ιδρύθηκε το 1999 και το 2011, ένα όνειρο ετών ήταν έτοιμο, αφού κατασκευάστηκε το Gravity Distillery. Με 35 μέτρα ύψος, όπως το όνομα δείχνει ότι το κτίριο αυτό χρησιμοποιεί τη βαρύτητα σε όλη τη διαδικασία παραγωγής ουίσκι. Σχεδιάστηκε από  αρχιτέκτονες, η αποστολή των οποίων ήταν να εμπλουτίσουν το κτίριο με έναν χαρακτήρα που συλλαμβάνει την ουσία του Mackmyra: playfulness, sensuality and qualitative production.

Πράγματι, εκτός από τις ενδιαφέρουσες εμφιαλώσεις, πρόκειται για ένα ιδιαίτερο αποστακτήριο που όλες οι παραγωγικές διαδικασίες, πραγματοποιούνται στα καθ’ ύψος επίπεδά του.

Τα τελευταία 2 χρόνια ήταν δύσκολα με το 2024 να υπάρχει μόνο σαν ευχή για να πάνε όλα καλύτερα. Δυστυχώς σήμερα τα νέα δεν είναι ευχάριστα. Μια ιστορία 25 ετών φτάνει σε ένα τέλος, ελπίζοντας να υπάρξει διάδοχη κατάσταση και να δούμε πάλι το αποστακτήριο να λειτουργεί. The Board of Directors of Mackmyra Svensk Whisky AB (publ) has, on August 19th, decided to file Mackmyra Svensk Whisky AB (publ) for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy petition has been filed at Gävle District Court.

We will shortly be assigned a bankruptcy trustee, to whom we refer all questions. You will find the contact details on our website as soon as a trustee has been appointed by the district court. The ownership and management of Mackmyra Svensk Whisky AB is now in the hands of the bankruptcy trustee, therefore Mackmyras staff will not be able to provide further information at this time.

It is with great sadness that we must state that it is unfortunately not possible to continue the company's operations. The company management and board have struggled hard to come to terms with the company profitability and cash flow. Despite the fantastic work of both staff and management, it is still not possible to continue. Since I took over as Chairman of the Board just over a year ago, my focus, together with the newly appointed management and the Board, has been to find a long-term solution for Mackmyra, but I am forced to conclude that time has not been enough. I sincerely hope that the bankruptcy trustee now has the chance to do something constructive with the values in the company and secure the Mackmyra brand and its 25-year history. says Chairman Petter Ski.

   Πραγματικά δεν έχω λόγια. Ζήσαμε τόσες συγκινήσεις με τις εμφιαλώσεις προβατίνας, με τις ωραίες διαδικτυακές δοκιμές και συναντήσεις...Κρίμα, κρίμα.

 Δεν θεωρώ το Mackmyra κορυφαίο ουίσκι, όμως σίγουρα όχι κακό. Δεν νομίζω να οφείλεται στην ποιότητα και στην γεύση του η χρεοκοπία. Εύχομαι να αναστηθεί σύντομα από κάποιον.

Great interest in taking over Mackmyra's whiskey production

The bankruptcy trustee has good hopes that Mackmyra whiskey will be saved.

- I have been contacted by several stakeholders, says Emma Berglund Uväng.

The lawyer Emma Berglund Uväng has been appointed by the Gävle district court to manage Mackmyra's bankruptcy.

During Tuesday, she was on site at the distillery in Kungsbäck to meet the staff. Right now they can continue to work as usual.

If Emma Berglund Uväng's dreams come true, whiskey production will be saved by a new actor in the near future.

Προς το παρόν οι εργαζόμενοι έχουν εγγυημένη δουλειά (βασικά μισθοδοσία) παρότι φαίνεται να έχει σταματήσει η παραγωγή (δεν είμαστε εκεί, αλλά το λογικό είναι αυτό αφού δεν μπορούν να μεταβάλλονται τα assets).

Mackmyra whiskey is bought by the old owner and investment company

Former main owner Lennart Hero buys back Mackmyra Whiskey together with the investment company No 1 Capital AB.

A little over a month ago, the Swedish whiskey manufacturer Mackmyra went bankrupt under notable circumstances. Now the company has a new owner.

- It feels good. Now we have cleaned up the mess and can hopefully make something good out of this, says Lennart Hero who has been the company's main owner and largest lender.

He does it together with the investment company No 1 Capital AB.

- They have looked at Mackmyra before. But then realized that the economy was not the best and then withdrew. Now that the bankruptcy came, I made new contact with them and we were able to come to an agreement, says Lennart Hero.

What did you have to pay for Mackmyra?

- Just over SEK 100 million. I have no idea if we had the highest bid. But I think the bankruptcy administrator considered that we had the best concept for Mackmyra's future, says Lennart Hero.

- Above all, I want to develop the future together with the staff, who have tremendous knowledge and a passion for the company.

What happens to the barrels?

- A priority for us is to ensure that all cask owners, both private and company-owned, get the opportunity to bottle their whiskey according to agreement, says Lennart Hero.
