One more time we had the pleasure and honour to visit the House of METAXA. A huge thanks to Mrs. Huity Konstantinidou and Maria Garouniati for organising our visit and of course Mr. Konstantinos Kalpaxidis, the new METAXA Master and (all of them of course) friends of whiskyforum and HMWS.

This time, the masterclass was history in the making, as Huity mentioned, as we had the opportunity to welcome to Greece Mr. Iain McAlister, Distillery Manager and Master Distiller for Glen Scotia Distillery. 

A unique opportunity for these two worlds, METAXA - the Original Greek Spirit and the awarded Glen Scotia single malt whisky to meet, discuss and exchange experiences. 

Moreover, it is not that common to see Iain and Kostas at the same masterclass and supporting Iain on how to mix wine distillate, sweet Moscat wine from Samos and a secret recipe of Mediterranean herbs and botanicals to create his own METAXA spirit.
