Είναι καλό βέβαια που αναβιώνει η απόσταξη ουίσκυ στο Δουβλίνο από το Teeling, αλλά άν η εμφιάλωση αυτή ακολουθεί τη συνταγή που δοκίμασα πριν ένα χρόνο στο Milano Whisky Festival (δεν είχε εμφιαλωθεί ακόμα αλλά είχαν ελάχιστα δείγματα για VIPs :biggrin1:), τότε η γνώμη μου είναι οτι βιάστηκαν. Θυμάμαι ένα ουίσκυ πολύ άγουρο που δεν μου έκανε καλή εντύπωση.

Benromach unveils rare 50-Year-Old Single Cask

We are excited to share with you one of our rarest single cask releases and the oldest expression in the current range, Benromach 50 Years Old (44.6% ABV).

Carefully handcrafted using many of the timeless methods that we still use at Benromach Distillery to this day, just 125 decanters are available worldwide from 30 September 2019. 

Cask No. 2003 was laid down in June 1969, Benromach 50 Years Old has spent half a century maturing in an ex-Sherry Hogshead.  It exudes the same undertones of gentle smoke Benromach is known for and rewards 50 years of nurture with sweet sherry aromas, ripe fruits and a mellow oak finish.

Benromach is one of a few distilleries in Scotland to use only traditional methods, without any automated machinery. Our small team of distillers employ all their senses when crafting the classic Speyside single malt Scotch whiskies, managing the process by sight, sound and touch to create the unique, handcrafted and authentic Benromach taste.

Ότι θα κλάψουνε θα κλάψουνε. Έχει καλό potential, καθώς είναι σχεδόν στους αλκοολικούς βαθμούς του πολύ πετυχημένου Talisker North, χωρίς να είναι NAS, αλλά αντίθετα σε μια αρκετά καλή ηλικία για whisky των συγκεκριμένων χαρακτηριστικών.

Βέβαια οι τιμές της σειράς φαίνονται αρκετά τσιμπημένες, αλλά τα έχουμε πει αυτά. Οι εταιρείες παραγωγής, χρόνια στο κουρμπέτι και στον ποδόγυρο του marketing, σου λένε γιατί να σου δίνω εγώ OB με 50-60 λίρες (τόσο θα τιμολογούσαν ένα Talisker 15yo ή ένα Lagavulin 12yo πριν 10 χρόνια) και μετά από μερικά χρόνια να πουλιέται σε auction 200; Πάρε τώρα μια καινούργια ετικέτα με λέλουδα, πάρε και ένα 'limited edition' νά 'χεις να γουστάρεις, αλλά σκάσε και 110 λιρόνια στη θεία Diageo.
